I got this idea a while ago. Simply the folder as the note itself and a few pages sticking out (in this case "Light Yagami", "Lind. L. Tailor", and the barely noticable first How To page).
However, I'm not quite satisfied with it yet. Does anybody have an idea on how to improve it?
Good idea. I will make a new version (not sure when) that will have the sheets of paper fixed (they are just wrong: too long and the perspective doesn't quite fit) and might also have the folder tabs removed, depending on how that turns out.
Yup, I liked it a lot but I'm a also huge fan(-boy) of the Mai-Otome series. It's a prequel, so you get some background information. Shouldn't hurt to watch it ;)
I like these recent icons you've done, gray. But I think you're either oversharpening the stock images or using a poor downscaling algorithm. Those aliased lines on details just look bad.

A red apple at the front would add a nice splash of color.

I suggest removing the little folder tab towards the bottom right to make it look more like the real deal.

These need to be uploaded as their individual pictures for easier usage.

For anyone else not sure where the download links actually are, they were placed as a note over "Hope you like them!" in the image.
Alternatively, the links are here:

At that point thanks to everybody who is contributing.

Yay, Mai-Hime/Otome! I really like them. Are you going to do an icon for S.ifr?

Finally, somebody did Shikabane Hime. I was going to do it myself, but yours looks really good. I'm definitely using this one.
